About the Preschool For All Task Force

Under the leadership of Commissioner Jessica Vega Pederson and in partnership with Social Venture Partners and United Way of the Columbia Willamette, the Preschool for All Task Force was convened in September 2018 with a strong vision: every child has access to a preschool that’s right for them, and every family can afford it. Local technical experts participated in work groups focused on policy, workforce development, infrastructure, and financial strategy and administration. More than 95 individuals participated in the Task Force and work groups, representing over 50 organizations.

The Task Force created a set of recommendations, published in July 2019, to expand preschool access across Multnomah County for the thousands of children in our community who are not currently being served.
